04 Apr Connecticut Colleges and Universities

Despite the state’s small size, students in Connecticut have a variety of higher education options, including large research universities, midsize colleges and many notable liberal arts colleges. The city of New Haven is home to Yale University, one of the country’s most prestigious schools. Top colleges are located throughout Connecticut and in cities such as New Haven, Bridgeport, Fairfield and the state capital, Hartford. Residents of Connecticut can attend select public colleges in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine through the New England Regional Student Program and receive a discount of up to 175 percent of the in-state tuition rate, provided they are enrolled in an approved degree program.
